Anti-Catholicism on the rise!

The Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell, has blamed religious intolerance for a shooting attack on cars outside a Christmas carols ceremony in western Sydney last night. Cardinal Pell says those attending the service at St Joseph's Primary School at Auburn were harassed as it commenced. Towards the end of the event, the local priest heard gunshots....

Vandals spray-painted satanic symbols on the exterior of a southeast Houston Roman Catholic church and defaced a statue over the weekend, police said. St. Alphonsus Church parishioners who arrived for services Sunday found the numbers "666" sprayed on the front door of the building at 9217 E. Avenue L. The word Satan and two five-pointed stars were also painted on the building...

"Ken Schram, a commentator for the ABC affiliate in Seattle (KOMO), sarcastically complained yesterday about a piece of public art that the Seattle Art Museum wants to display. The work in question is that of a nude man reaching for a nude boy; it is to be displayed at a public park on the Seattle waterfront. Schram said that ‘a naked guy reaching for a naked kid has far more sordid interpretations in this day and age," and then said: ‘The sculpture might as well as be called the priest and the altar boy...."

In addition to that, there have been many so-called "evangelists" who have been making the rounds at Evangelical Protestant churches all around the USA and Canada. They've been misrepresenting the teachings of the Catholic Church and labeled it a "cult." These "men of God' are encouraging Evangelicals to convert as many Catholics as possible in order to "save their souls from this evil religious system."

At the same time, the leftist groups in Europe and North America have become increasingly anti-catholic in their rhetoric as the Vatican takes a strong stand against gays in the priesthood.

Meanwhile, Catholics are being arrested in China simply for being Catholic, and Catholics (along with many other Christians) in Muslim countries are in danger for their lives every day.
