It's official. The Catholic Knight is retired.  I'm hanging up the helmet and passing the torch. There will be no more articles, no more commentaries, no more calls to action. THIS BLOG IS CLOSED. I've spent a very long time thinking about this, I believe the time has come, and is a bit overdue.  I want to thank my readers for everything, but most especially for your encouragement and your willingness to go out there and fight the good fight. Superficial Condoms in Colombia

Got your attention with that title!

Priest calls proposal mandating citizens to carry condom superficial

BOGOTA, Colombia (CNS) -- A Tulua city councilman's proposal to require all citizens age 14 and older to carry a condom "seems a little superficial," said a local parish priest. Father Roberto Sarmiento of St. Bartholomew Church in Tulua, a university city with a population of about 200,000, said carrying condoms would make little difference without a change in mentality. ...because we all know how effective condoms are, especially ones that are exposed to prolonged heat by being carried around by a 14 year old. You might as well carry around a roll of rice paper. Same effect.

The priest is partially right for saying it "seems a little superficial." It seems a whole lot superficial. Like putting duct tape on a door ding to make it look better.
