It's official. The Catholic Knight is retired.  I'm hanging up the helmet and passing the torch. There will be no more articles, no more commentaries, no more calls to action. THIS BLOG IS CLOSED. I've spent a very long time thinking about this, I believe the time has come, and is a bit overdue.  I want to thank my readers for everything, but most especially for your encouragement and your willingness to go out there and fight the good fight. So, that being the case, I've spend the last several weeks looking for bloggers who are fairly active, and best represent something akin to the way I think and what I believe.  I recommend the following blogs for my readers to bookmark and check on regularly. Pick one as your favourite, or pick them all. They are all great..... In His Majesty's Service, THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT

Your Chance To Stop Gay-Marriage NOW!

The Knights of Columbus, in cooperation with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, has sponsored a campaign to force action in the United States Congress on the Federal Marriage Amendment, which would effectively ban gay-marriage (same-sex marriage) in the USA. You can learn more details about this by visiting the Knights of Columbus website here. For readers of this blog, this 4th degree knight is making it even more simple for you to participate. All you need to do is cut and paste the text below, and e-mail it to your state's U.S. Senators. Simply fill in the blanks, and replace the signature text below with your name and mailing address. Then see to it that your friends and neighbors get a link to this website to do the same....

Dear Senator,

I strongly support Senate Joint Resolution 1, the Marriage Protection Amendment, which will be brought up for consideration in early June. It would amend the U.S. Constitution to state that “Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman.” Marriage is more than a lifestyle choice. It makes a unique contribution to the common good of society by providing a way for a man and a woman to bring children into the world and to care for them in the context of a loving, committed, lifetime relationship. I ask that you vote in favor of S. J. Res 1, in order to permanently protect the institution of marriage.
