It's official. The Catholic Knight is retired.  I'm hanging up the helmet and passing the torch. There will be no more articles, no more commentaries, no more calls to action. THIS BLOG IS CLOSED. I've spent a very long time thinking about this, I believe the time has come, and is a bit overdue.  I want to thank my readers for everything, but most especially for your encouragement and your willingness to go out there and fight the good fight. So, that being the case, I've spend the last several weeks looking for bloggers who are fairly active, and best represent something akin to the way I think and what I believe.  I recommend the following blogs for my readers to bookmark and check on regularly. Pick one as your favourite, or pick them all. They are all great..... In His Majesty's Service, THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT

Hug Me, I’m Catholic

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Isn’t it interesting how some liberal politicians want you to know they’re Catholic. Of course most of it is just political posturing, in an attempt to garner votes for the next election cycle, and most of them are just “Catholic In Name Only.” We saw this with Senator John Kerry during his presidential bid in 2004, and no doubt, we’ll see it again should he run in 2008. Now we have a new Speaker of the House -- Nancy Pelosi -- a San Francisco Liberal who is desperately trying to remake herself as the “Catholic mom” from Baltimore. Don’t you believe it! Actions speak louder than words. She can say she’s “Catholic” all she wants, but when it comes to her political track record, she’s nothing more than a Church-hating hypocrite.

The record indicates that Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is an ardent opponent of human rights for the unborn. In May of 2005 she voted YES on allowing human embryonic stem cell research. In April of 2005 she voted NO on restricting interstate transport of minors to get abortions. In February of 2004 she voted NO on making it a crime to harm a fetus during another crime. In October of 2003 she voted NO on banning partial-birth abortion except to save the mother’s life. In February of 2003 she voted NO on forbidding human cloning for reproduction & medical research. In September of 2002 she voted NO on funding for health providers who don't provide abortion information. In May of 2001 she voted NO on banning Family Planning funding in US aid abroad. In April of 2001 she voted NO on making it a federal crime to harm fetus while committing other crimes. In April of 2000 she voted NO on banning partial-birth abortions. And in June of 1999 she voted NO on barring transporting minors to get an abortion. Nancy Pelosi currently enjoys a 100% rating from NARAL, indicating a totally pro-abortion voting record. Any one of these votes constitutes a mortal sin according to the Catholic Church, and the US Council of Catholic Bishops has voted to bar all such politicians from the communion rail. According to the Vatican, and the US Council of Catholic Bishops, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not allowed to receive communion in the Catholic Church. Technically, this puts her just one step away from formal excommunication.
