It's official. The Catholic Knight is retired.  I'm hanging up the helmet and passing the torch. There will be no more articles, no more commentaries, no more calls to action. THIS BLOG IS CLOSED. I've spent a very long time thinking about this, I believe the time has come, and is a bit overdue.  I want to thank my readers for everything, but most especially for your encouragement and your willingness to go out there and fight the good fight. So, that being the case, I've spend the last several weeks looking for bloggers who are fairly active, and best represent something akin to the way I think and what I believe.  I recommend the following blogs for my readers to bookmark and check on regularly. Pick one as your favourite, or pick them all. They are all great..... In His Majesty's Service, THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT

This Blog May Soon Be Illegal

THE FLAG CODE
Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10
As amended by P.L. 344, 94th Congress
Approved July 7, 1976
§ 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Just to give all my readers fair warning, if H.R. 1592 ever becomes law, this blog will soon be illegal, and anything you post here may be a crime.

Currently, H.R. 1592 has passed the US House of Representatives by a fairly large margin, mostly along party lines, with about 25 Republicans crossing over to join Democrats in passing the legislation. A similar bill is expected to pass in the US Senate as well. President Bush has promised a veto. Should Congress be able to garner enough votes to override his veto, H.R. 1592 will become law, and this blog will be in violation of federal law for propagating "hate speech." The so-called "hate speech" is simply because of this blog's message that homosexuality is a sin, and that many homosexual activists are engaged in very coercive and un-American activities against Christians in this nation.

It is widely expected that the US Supreme Court would overturn such legislation if passed into law, but there is no indication of how long this will take, or how many Christians will be prosecuted for "hate crimes" while we wait.

Because of this, 'The Catholic Knight' is at a crossroads, as are millions of other Christian bloggers (whether they realize it or not). His desire is to keep blogging in spite of the threat of government sponsored persecution. However, 'The Catholic Knight' is a family man, and he has to consider the needs of his wife and children as well. It is a very real possibility that all Christian bloggers in the USA will soon have to choose between freedom and family. If, or when, that day comes, 'The Catholic Knight' does not yet know what he will do. All he can do right now is ask for your prayers. Not so much for himself, but for our country, that H.R. 1592 and all similar legislation, will never become law. GOD SAVE THE USA!
