Mighty MO Sends A Blow To O'

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Speaking from the mighty state of Missouri, and as a citizen of this fine land, you're welcome! It was our pleasure (and honor) to fire the first salvo against the Obamanation that is Obamacare. Happy Birthday Mr. President!!! I haven't had that much fun wielding a pen at the polling station in years.
(The Catholic Key) - So, with little publicity and virtually no prodding, 7 out of 10 Missourians who voted yesterday sent an unmistakable rebuke to Obamacare. You can call that symbolic. You can say the federal courts will overturn it anyhow. And you might be right on both counts. But politicians who dismiss it are gonna have a heck of a time in November.

Mr Knight, the feds are already saying that not even popular referendums can supercede federal authority, and the courts will likely strike it down. So, there you have it in a democracy or republic, the will of the people doesnt count. It's beginning to look a lot like...........1860. Pete Frey

Pete, it is 1860 all over again, but this time the rebels must not rise up in arms. That kind of rebellion won't work. It didn't work in 1861 and it certainly won't work now. Imperial Washington is too strong.

Only a Solidarity type movement can break the iron grip of the empire. That and prayer - lots of prayer.

When the people are ready to stop working entirely (as in a general strike), barter for what they need under the table, and spend the rest of their time protesting and praying - then we will be ready for freedom.

If we resort to violence - everybody loses.

unfortunately Sir Knight, violence can not be ruled out. But it will come from DC, not the people. (how about adding non-filing of income taxes?) Pete Frey

Unfortunately, we in Michigan, had no such victory. Our state cemented our hard core "blue state" status for at least another generation by electing the two most liberal candidates in both parties in the gubernatorial primary.

I'm saddened to hear that Shazamaholic. I see the shades of 1860 written all over these next two election cycles.

So, for our governor, we will have the choice of a liberal republican and an insanely liberal democrat. Our only hope is for a Tea Party backed independent candidate (or even a strong Libertarian) to emerge.

And for the presidential election in 2012, I would advise the national GOP not to waste a single penny in Michigan. It's a lost cause like NY and California. Spend the money on the real battle ground states. Don't waste it in Michigan.
