The Prophecies of Fatima - It's Not Over Yet!

Sixty-five years ago today...

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT remains convinced that there is yet something more to the last secret of Fatima, and I believe it has something to do with the clerical sex-abuse scandals, the current pope, and a coming Modernist rebellion within the Church.  Your thoughts?

Dear Knight,

I believe you are right in regards to there being something more. I have never been comfortable with our Bishops and Popes disobeying the request of Our Lady. After having specifically asked Sr. Lucia to reveal to the whole world, in 1960, the 3rd secret, it is quite suspect that the opposite was done.

There has been a suppression of the facts and the secret. Why can we not ask a simple question and get a straightforward answer? All we want to know is why the church chose to disobey Our Lady for 40 years. And even after 40 years to give an anti-climatic answer? It doesn't make sense.

And of course, people ignore that Pope Benedict chose to answer a question about Fatima on his trip to Portugal this summer. He said in other words, that the secret has not fully been realized.

There is much to still look forward to. What it is, I cannot speculate, but, it is a terrible but much needed truth that the people have been granted to know about, otherwise Our Lady would not have appeared to Sr. Lucia.

Well for one, the Pope clearly dies in the Third Secret, and there are multiple projectiles hurled at him, not a singular bullet. So it foretells a future Pope, not Pope John Paul II's attempted assassination.

Let us not focus inordinately on "prophecy" but live our lives in fidelity to Christ and the teachings of the church: mass, sacraments, prayer, the rosary, sacrifices etc. And the rest will take care of itself.
Sir Knight, perhaps i am a bit cynical on all this, having as was posted above "anticlimactic" feelings over 1960, the alleged fake Sr Lucy, the consecration was done, no the consecration was not done, etc etc. "the faith will always be preserved in Portugal" yet we see Portugal going down the same path as the rest of Europe in terms of abandoning the practice of the faith. "only I can save you" Really? I thought Christ was the only savior. I just tend to wonder about some of these words attributed to the Blessed Mother. After all, the AUTHENTIC message of Fatima was prayer and conversion, make sacrifices, go to mass and confession frequently. That's all we need to be concerned with. Pete Frey

Sir Knight,

There definitely are others who share your opinion. Some as far as to be angry at the Holy Fathers JPII and B16 and think "Vatican Conspiracy." If Dan Brown ever wants another Vatican conspiracy novel he's got his gem here and could add some sort of post apocolypic part too (In sincerity I hope he does not).

However, why would then, the Vatican and JPII + B16 not tell us the whole truth about it? Why would they say that the 3rd secret has been revealed in full and Sr. Lucia's envelope be fully opened? And that they have (under JPII) have already consecrated Russia when others think not? Did they lie about the angel's flaming sword? Maybe it is the wrath of Hell coming upon us who aren't seeking the Truth?????

I'll admit I'm not a devotee of Fatima, rather I pray the Divine Mercy associated with the St. Faustina and Medujugore (just that prayer associated with the apparition, I'm waiting on the Vatican's investigation). But I'm even more confused on Fatima.

Dear Cathloic Knight;

I am a great fan of your blog, but was a bit troubled by this post. I am wondering if you have heard of the Fatima Family Apostolate? Fr. Robert Fox has written extensively on this topic. A book I am currently reading is called "Fatima is Forever." It may be worth looking into.

Again, very much enjoy you posts!!

Sir Knight,

If you read other church approved apparitions (particularly Our Lady of Good Success and Akita) as well as revelations given to various saints, its doesn't become too difficult to piece together the real third secret. Also Sr. Lucia herself revealed in her forth memoir that the secret is all contained in chapters 8-13 of the book of Revelation.

I too have been confused by the statement about Portugal. I strongly believe that we haven't been told the whole content of the secret. Perhaps it read something like in Portugal the Dogma of the faith will be preserved if, etc.

I don't think the official interpretation given by the Vatican declaring JPll the bishop in white is correct. The pope in the vision clearly dies. Many revelations given by approved sources state that the pope will undergo a cruel martyrdom. St. John Bosco's vision of the two columns and St. Pius X's come to mind.

Anonymous is right, the salvation of our souls is the only thing that really matters and God have given us the church with its beautiful teachings and sacraments to insure we finally reach our true home in heaven.

I agree knight, that Fatima prophecies are not finished. The Pope, this year, said 7 years more. That will bring us to 2017. Do we have a nuclear war in the next 7 years. 'Nations being annihilated' to punishe the world for all the sins and the Church for paedophilia?
