Middle East Revolution - Phase 2

The United Muslim States (or Caliphate) as Envisioned in the Near Future
THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT has been warning about emerging trends in the Middle East, and before I go into this further, let me say there is nothing the United States, Europe or the United Nations can do to stop this now.  A united Islamic caliphate in the Middle East and North Africa is about to rise, and the chain of events needed for that to happen has already progressed so far that it is irreversible.  The only question that remains now is how long?  How long will it be before these riot-revolutions destabilize all (or most) of the Arab governments and result in a call for a new order.  We are still in the early stages of this revolution and we have no idea how quickly it will proceed.

The problem with these riot-revolutions is that the majority of the people involved in them are not necessarily bad people.  In the case of Egypt the people were economically and politically oppressed by Hosni Mubarak's regime.  Their anger was justified, but so is the anger of those oppressed by the Iranian regime, and many other oppressed peoples in the region.

To date (2-16-2011) the following countries are in various stages of upheaval...

  1. Egypt
  2. Bahrain
  3. Iran
  4. Iraq
  5. Libya
  6. Tunisia
  7. Yemen
  8. Algeria
  9. Jordan
  10. Sudan

For now there is no end in sight.  Both Israel and Saudi Arabia are becoming increasingly isolated, and while there are things the Saudi monarchy can do to appease the masses, there is nothing Israel can do but sit and wait for the inevitable.  This is backing Israel into a corner with no way out but through military action - eventually.

This brilliant cartoon captures the reality of the situation
in Egypt and other Middle Eastern nations.
Sadly, though the anger of the demonstrators is understandable, the results will likely be against their best interest, and especially against the best interest of Israel and the West.   The problem of course is culture.  The word culture comes from the Latin word cultus meaning "religion," and all culture is based on religion.  It is no accident that the Muslim Brotherhood occupies a dominant position in Egyptian politics and while the intentions of the demonstrators may have in many cases been pure, the result of their action will put them under a regime far more harsh than anything Hosni Mubarak dished out during his thirty year reign.  There simply aren't enough pro-western, pro-democracy advocates in Egypt to make a democratic revolution stick.  With the backing of the military, and a little luck, they might achieve a democracy for a short time, but the Muslim Brotherhood is already preparing to field political candidates for those elections, and once their boys are elected, you can expect Egypt's budding democracy to give way to theocratic rule rather quickly.

When the Caliphate is established, it's land mass will
dwarf Europe and possibly surpass the size
of the United States.
So what happened in Egypt is now happening in other nations around the Muslim world, and what we are seeing in the 21st century is the fruition of Muslim fantasies in the 20th century.  To accomplish this dream the current autocratic regimes must be toppled, or else made to do the bidding of the people, and the people will soon be manipulated to do the bidding of the religious leaders.  (That's not hard in Islamic regions.)  This is inevitable you see because it all comes back to culture.  There is no distinction between religion and state in Islamic culture.  Secularism and multiculturalism are viewed as inventions of the West and that is correct.  In the West, particularly in Europe, those inventions are failing miserably, to the point where even the leaders of Britain, Germany and France now admit that multiculturalism has failed Europe and must be abandoned to save Europe.  Secularism will likely be the next admission of failure, but I imagine they'll hold out on that until the last minute.  The new Islamic Caliphate will not likely want to repeat the errors of the West, and the religious leaders of the Muslim world will not permit it.  So the Caliphate will be staunchly Islamic in law as well as culture - i.e. "Shariah."

The official position of the United States in all of this is eerily familiar.  Back in 1979 when pro-democracy students overthrew the Shaw of Iran, the Carter administration likened the return of the Ayatollah from exile in France to the "return of Gandhi."  Americans were assured the Iranian student protesters were "pro-democracy" and would never allow the creation of a radical Muslim state.  Within months the Ayatollah took over Iran and turned it into an Islamic theocracy.  President Carter was then quickly reduced to a mere hostage negotiator.  Strangely enough the former president is repeating the same mantra again in regards to what is going on now, and the current Whitehouse administration is echoing it.  It's as if our leaders continuously miscalculate over and over again.  As for the American press, they are largely the fourth branch of government.  Whatever the official position of the Whitehouse is, the news media just repeats it.

The Islamist short-term plan for a regional Caliphate, followed by a
long-term plan for worldwide domination.
We cannot know how long it will take for the Caliphate to be created, or how long it will be before the "United Muslim States" emerge as a singular entity, but it's eventual creation is almost assured. When this happens the State of Israel will be in the most immediate danger and Europe shortly after that.

There is not much we can do to help the Israelis.  The Zionist pipedream of creating an exclusively "Jewish State" in the middle of the Islamic world was shortsighted and insane.  Since it's inception into law it has resulted in multiple wars and countless acts of terrorism.  Granted, it is Israel that is primarily attacked, but it is also Israeli policy of maintaining and enforcing a strictly "Jewish State" that aggravates the situation.  All that aside, it's about to become ancient history, as Israel's main problem now will be it's very survival.  Israel now has three problems to face and all three spell it's eventual political demise.  The first is the military threat from the emerging Caliphate super-state.  The second is a potential internal Egyptian-style uprising of the Palestinian people.  The third is demographics, as Israeli Jews do not maintain a birthrate high enough to sustain the nation for longer than thirty years.  Meanwhile the Palestinian birthrate continues to rise.  Even if Israel manages to beat the odds on a military threat and a popular uprising, it still must face down the harsh reality of biological mathematics.

So what (if anything) can America do to help Israel?  There isn't much.  We cannot afford to fight their wars for them, and supplying them with more weapons and money will only turn the Caliphate's wrath toward us.  All we can do is urge the Israeli's to make peace with the Palestinians, by either creating a separate Palestinian State immediately, or else annexing the territory and granting full Israeli citizenship to all Palestinian Muslims and Christians.  This is their best bet at maintaining peace with their Arab neighbors and the emerging Caliphate.  Aside from that, the only thing the United States can do is formulate a mass evacuation strategy for Israel citizens if or when the unthinkable occurs.  Should that happen, the United States had better be prepared to absorb millions of Jewish and Christian refugees not only from Israel, but also the entire Arab world.

The United States can do nothing to help Europe.  Only the Europeans can help themselves, and that can only be done by abandoning both multiculturalism and secularism entirely.  Restoring Europe to it's Christian roots is the only solution, as only a healthy and robust Christianity stands in between Europe and an Islamic revolution.

All America can do to help itself is return to it's Christian roots, disengage from the Middle East, and start using our own energy reserves.  Word has it we have enough oil to become the Saudi Arabia of the 21st century.  When you look at the crisis posed by our national debt, it is high time we start using it to turn our situation around.

Sir Knight, I basically agree with your analysis of the Middle-Eastern crisis. However, I am skeptical of wheather it is a good idea to bring all the Israeli Jews here to the US. They made a mess of their own country, so with all the problems we have in this country right now, would it really be wise to bring in a group of people who could make things worst for us? The majority of them are hard-core secularists. We have enough secularists in this contry right now. We don't need any more. What we do need is more Christians to help us to re-Christianize our American culture. I think a better way a handling the future Jewish refuge problem would be to scatter them among the various friendly European countries and in Central and South America. The impact IMHO of all the Israeli's coming to America would be to much of a culture shock for our country.

Scotju, I understand your concerns, though it's the secular thing that bothers me more than anything else. I don't have a problem with more Jews living here so long as they practice their faith and live decent moral lives. But I would say that about any immigrant regardless of identity.

I suppose if the unthinkable happens we will end up with a lot of Christians as well, many coming from Israel/Palestine, but also other parts of the Middle East, as they most certainly will be persecuted for their faith under the Caliphate.

Undoubtedly many Israeli refugees will be scattered throughout nations willing to receive them, but I do believe the United States is morally obligated to take the lion's share. Why? Because if the unthinkable happens a good portion of it was our fault. We backed them and their policies when we shouldn't have. We gave them unconditional support which gave their leadership the impression they could do whatever they wanted with impunity. I would support a program calling for every Christian Zionist household in America to take in a refugee family from the Holy Land until more permanent residence can be found. That way the Christian Zionists here in America can experience first hand what pain their theology has brought upon the world.

Absolutely not, Sir Knight!!! no more immigrants, no more calls for multiculturalism, no more poverty stricken "refugees" seeking liberal handouts at the expense of other Americans. Certainly, any possible collapse of Israel, is not "our fault" and I seriously object to that statement on your part. (one of the few times I find myself in disagreement with you) We have backed Israel to the hilt, foregoing our own strategic needs to placate the Israeli lobby in DC and NYC. Israel has been in an untenable situation since its founding, and has brought this crisis upon itself. I recently read a column by a European writer, warning of the impending islamizing of Europe, and pleading with the US to "remain the last bastion of freedom and come to the aid of the old continent again." Sorry, we did that in 1917 and 1942, and what did it get us? We have enough of our own problems to be able to intervene again as the world's cop. Europe, too, has brought this crisis upon itself, as you correctly said, Mr Knight, by its socialistic/secularistic policies. Now its time for them to pay the piper, but not with American blood and treasure. Pete Frey

Sir Knight, have you ever heard of a town called Postville,Ia? About two decades ago, a bunch of "moral, faithful" Hasaidic Jews settled in that town to start a kosher meat processing plant. These Jews basically cheated the people of Postville, defrauded other businesses, violated local, state and federal laws, and generally antagonized the citizens of Postville with their anti-social behaviour. These "moral, faithful" Jews are now despised and hated by the people of Postville. This behaviour is not out of charecter for these kind of Jews. failedmessiah.com has dozens of stories about these people. Are you sure you want these "religious Jews" over here living "faithfull, moral" lives? Pardon my sarcasm, but don't we have enough of this kind of "religion" in the USA from the Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Muslim shysters that are already in this country?
In spite of my disagreement with you, I like your idea of boarding the Israeli Jews with the Christian Zionists. The Haridim would refuse to live with any Christian family, so the CZ's would be getting secular Jews. They'll be thrilled to do it at first, but I predict the experiance will sour them on Jews. The CZ evangelical/fundamentalists types have been fed a fantasy about what Jews are really like. All they have ever heard is the positive propaganda put out by fundies like Falwell or by the Jews themselves. Many of them have never met a real Jew either. Oh, they may have met a "messianic Jew" at some church, but I doubt the vast majority have ever had any contact with any kind of actual secular or religious Jew. If such a taking in of Israeli refuges takes place, I predict three things will happen. The CZ's will be angry with their boarders for not fullfilling their fantasies about Jews or Israel. The CZ's will be angry with the preachers and ministeries that fed them these fantasies and turn on them. (That won't be a bad thing!) The CZ's will be angry with themselves for swallowing this hokum. Which will lead them (unless prevented be the grace of God) to become Jew-haters. Frankly, I hope this never happens, for it would create social chaos beyond belief.

a further thought, if you will, Mr Knight: Israel is NOT going to "go gently into that good night" but will start to ace pre-emptively when the situation reaches critical mass. They will "lance the boil" You can expect them to nuke Tehran, Baghdad,Damascus, and most importantly Mecca itself. They will take as many islamists as they can. Pete Frey

The Catholic Knight said...

Indeed Pete! If it were to come to that Israel would likely win any strategic confrontation, especially a nuclear one. However, that being said, Israel would need to take out dozens of Arab targets to be effective. Meanwhile the Arabs would only need to take out one target - Tel Aviv. They don't even need to use a missile. They could do it using terrorist means. If Israel wiped out the Arab world, you can rest assured there would be enough animosity among the Arab states (and Russia) to retaliate with a covert nuclear strike on Tel Aviv. That would take out almost half of Israel's Jewish population.

Let's just say if it goes to nuclear blows it's over for Israel. Even after they win they lose. Final result is a mass exodus of Jews and Christians out of the Middle East.

Israel's best chance is to annex the Palestinian territories, take full responsibility for them and then give the Palestinians full Israeli citizenship and voting rights. Within a matter of years the Palestinians would control half the government and vote to make Israel a truly Secular state, dropping it's Jewish identity as a matter of law. Either that, or the Israelis can go ahead and recognize Palestinian sovereignty, and officially make the break. Palestine becomes it's own country and the Israelis get another 30 years or so before demographics takes them over. The long and short of it is this. Israel loses one way or another. That's what happens when you pursue messianic promises without the Messiah. Hey, I heard that straight from a rabbi.

Sir Knight? I will admit that this will sound really spiteful at face value, but this is nothing we haven't seen before in the history of the Church, oh say around the end of the 1000's to beginning of the 1100's.

What are your thoughts on a possible second major time of Crusades? Do you think at some point Pope ________ who is in charge when they start really crucifying Christians should declare one like Urban the __(?)__ did? Perhaps even a just war? Maybe something like this might happen post minor Chastizement with that Christian monarch you mentioned before?

The Catholic Knight said...

Indeed Young Canadian, that is how the Great Monarch is supposed to come to world power. After the pope is killed during the first part of the Chastisement, a new pope is elected. That one crowns a French king, against the people's will, to restore order to Europe. He does so and then takes his crusade to the East, defeating the Muslim empire and liberating Jerusalem.

Sir Knight,
As a new Catholic convert, I am not familiar with the scenario referenced in your last comment. Could you elucidate?

The Catholic Knight said...

Anonymous,

There are two levels of prophecy in the Catholic Church.

The first is Public Revelation, and this is what we find in the Bible and the Catechism. It is required that all Catholics believe it.

The second is Private Revelation, and this is what we find in the writings of the Saints. The Church has deemed them "worthy of belief" but has not required anyone to believe these writings. In other words, it's left up to the individual to decide whether to believe these writings or not, but the Church does not condemn them. Many of these Private Revelations tell of a coming Chastisement upon the modern world, the assassination of a pope, the election of a new pope in exile, and the rise of a Great King (from France of all places) that God will use to defeat the Marxists and Islamists. This epic will be followed by an age of peace and evangelism for some time before the final epic of Antichrist sometime in the distant future.

Dear Catholic Knight,

Am I wading into the waters of hetradoxy in terms of Catholic prayer and devotional practice by praying
http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/dmmap.htm
dedicating the intention of this prayer to the Great Catholic Monarch and Holy Pope (with an emphasis upon their arrival sooner rather than later, plus the blessing of good health and the welfare of both if indeed those who will eventually ascend to the above offices are alive today)?

In addition, when not praying for the GCM and HP, I offer this for the continued blessing of B16 and all who are striving to reform the reform - plus the provision of Godly men to continue the work when their time on earth is done and the prevention of any circling buzzards from picking apart these valuable gains to orthodox catholic belief and practice.

If I cannot for some reason pray the CDM, I pray the regular rosary with the above as its intention. Am I out of step here?

Am I able to encourage as many who read here to do likewise? Your guidance would be appreciated

may you continue your invaluable ministry.

Sarah,
Australia.

Dear Sir Knight,

Do you suppose that the prophecies contained in Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38&39 pertain to what we see unfolding in the Middle East and the eventual WW3?

Modern Countries mentioned in Psalm 83

Tents of Edom - Palestinians and Southern Jordanians
Ishmaelites - Saudis (Ishmael father the Arabs)
Moab - Palestinians and Central Jordanians
Hegarenes - Egyptians
Gebal - Hezbollah and Northern Lebanese
Ammon - Palestinians and Northern Jordanians
Amalek - Hamas of the Gaza Strip
Assyria - Syrians and Northern Iraqi's

Ezekiel 38&39

Gog – individual who leads the invasion
Magog – southern portion of the former Soviet Union
Rosh – The Scythians living in the Caucuses
Meshech and Tubal – Turkey
Persia – Iran
Cush – Sudan
Put – Libya (possibly Algeria and Tunisia as well)
Beth-togarmah – Turkey, Armenia and other Turkic-speaking peoples who spread into other countries across central Asia

Anonymous, most of the nations mentioned in Ps 83 don't exist as a genetic or political reality anymore. So it's nonscence to try to see this as a future prediction of an Arab alliance against the modern nation called Israel.
The prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39, interpeted the way many Hal Linsday types do it, doesn't make scence either. While Persia and Cush (Ethiopia, not Sudan) still exist today, the other nations no longer exist as the polictical or genetic groups that they were in Old Testament times. So, again, it would be silly to see this as a prediction of a war against Israel by Russia, as it is held by so many so-called prophecy experts like Lindsey.
The focus of prophecy in the New covenent is the Church, the new Israel, not the carnal Israel of the Old Covenent. If you want a hint on how to understand these prophecies, read Galatians Chapter Four for Ps 83, and Revelaton Chapter 20:7-10 for Ez 38-39.

Thank you very much for your advice scotju. I'm also going to read the commentaries in my Navarre Bible concerning these scriptures. I also have the book Trial, Tribulation and Triumph by D. Birch as well as Fr. Kramer's The Book of Destiny. I'm sure these will give me a better understanding of end times events. Thanks again.
