THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: I am disgusted with politics in general. Every time I go to the polls I feel manipulated. Sometimes it's everything I can do to just drag my body down there and make the effort. Yes, it really is that discouraging to me. However, while I don't know what the outcome of any election will be, I do know this, if we practicing Catholics don't make up our mind immediately, and throw our support behind a particular Republican challenger as soon as possible, the mainstream news media will do what it always does and drive a wedge between the Catholic and Evangelical vote. Once that happens it's over for the presidential challenger, and Barack H. Obama will most certainly be reelected as the next president of the United States in Novemeber 2012. Are you ready for another four years of this man? The only people who can give him another four years is us - by our indecision.

It Has Begun...
Are you ready for another four years of this man?...

Mr Knight, do keep in mind that Barry Soetoro (as I prefer to call him) was elected largely with the catholic vote. Catholics objectively commited mortal sin by voting for this man, knowing his stand on abortion, gay "marriage" and other issues at odds with catholic teaching. They will likely do so again, totally ignoring both his record and the pronouncements from the church. If catholics had voted as they should have, this clown would be back to being a community agitator---err, organizer in Chicago. In 2012, there are several factors at work: one is that the church has lost its moral credibility as a result of the sexual abuse scandal. In my archdiocese (once a bastion of conservatism, clerical obedience and orthodoxy) mass attendance is down 15%, collections are down 25%, and this during Lent when normally there is an up-tick in mass attendance/confessions. So we have the "who is the church to tell me what's right or wrong?" attitude. Secondly, probably of equal importance to 2012 is the stupid party's tendency to shoot themselves in the foot by nominating someone with "loser" written on his back (think John Mc Cain, Bob Dole). Their track record on this is not promising (there is no Reagan on the horizon). Sarah Palin would be a disaster as would Huckabee or Romney. Next, "its the economy, stupid" issue as folks might see "the recovery" taking hold. The only thing which could turn people away from this muslim/marxist fraud would be another foreign blunder, a continuing middle east war, huge oil prices or another 9/11. So far, i am not optimistic that we can even garner enough catholics to dump him. Pete Frey
Stop voting. I believe republicanism is unscriptural. In the end We will all be worshiping a King of the World not a President of the World.

Apathy, lack of knowledge, a desire to be 'part of history', disgust with the past and racism put this man into office. He offered nothing more than warm fuzzy feelings and the promise of change. Nobody thought to ask change to what.
If we remain silent, if priests remain silent on the mortal sin of abortion, if we allow the major news media to drive this election he will have 4 more years.

Pete Frey,
May I ask how you come to the conclusion that by voting for a politician who is pro-choice that the voter is in mortal sin? is there evidence by Canon Law, the Catechism or another strong source to prove this?
Cause either this is one of those "I didn't know" ways to commit mortal sin that should be known, or it seems a little of a stretch.
Wouldn't voting for someone who is pro-choice be considered material cooperation in mortal sin? Also isn't approval of anothers sin one of the ways we participate in their sin?
Young Canadian, "anonymous" has responded to my statement, it's objective cooperation, enabling a pro-abortion advocate to become elected. Certain bishops in the US (Chaput, Bruskewitz, Finn and others) as well as statements from Rome have confirmed the positon that it is objectively evil to knowingly vote for a pro abortion candidate. Catholics have the obligaton to inform themselves on the issues and need to exercise their civic responsiblity in accord with church teachings. Note that i said "objective mortal sin" which means that there MAY be some extenuating circumstances which would diminish moral responsiblity, such as someone who believed that Obama would be better at handling the economy (hahah)than the other candidate. But given the fact that the church's position is WELL KNOWN, there seems little excuse, and at very least is a matter for confesson. I stand by what i said Pete Frey
In trying to figure out who Obama was I looked into his voting record. The only thing he has any position on is abortion. He is so strongly pro abortion it is alarming. Unlike most politicians who believe only what they think the voters want them to believe, this man is a true believer in abortion. Therefore regardless of any position he has on any other issue, his passion for abortion puts him into a category that under no circumstance should he recieve our vote.
