THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: In light of recent news about the Rapture coming tonight at 6pm Eastern daylight time, The Catholic Knight would like to inform all my readers that we Catholics will NOT be participating in said event.
This is because nearly all of the books on the Rapture make it clear that Catholics are going to be Left Behind. This is primarily due to our "Mary worship" and cannibalism. Papalism and necromancy may also play a role.
So unpack you bags an feel free to eat a heavy dinner. We will not be flying tonight. This has been a public service announcement from 'The Catholic Knight.'

Sir Knight,
We're all still here in Aus, The power still works and radio still on air. perhaps my street is so quiet because they've all up and left!!!!!! :-) I always have a bit of a chuckle at this sort of thing; pity so many souls are led astray by such evil men!
Keep up the good work,
Sarah,
Australia.
Harold Camping is the novus ordo equivalent of Hans Kung. Both have their own interpretation of scripture. And this shows the folly of the protestant sola scriptura teaching. Each man is his own pope and can convolute the bible to suit his fancy. BTW, there has been no statement as yet from "Family Radio" I did catch this update:
BREAKING: CNN first reported that Harold Camping had vanished from his office. His clothes were not left in a neat pile. Later it was discovered that he dozed off in front of his TV waiting for the rapture to move across the world, open graves, earthquakes, toppling skyscrapers. etc. Reports that he was seen at San FRancisco airport boarding a plane for Saudi Arabia have been unconfirmed so far. Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, a statement from By Bill Truth, a spokesman for "Family radio" said that Pastor Camping was preparing his next doomsday date, which is still on track for Oct 21. Also police in Central Park have arrested Ms. Fun D. Mental for running naked, claiming he was all set to be taken up to the clouds. Back in California, Rusty Bumpers, Camping's official driver said that, Rev Camping was last seen asking if he could convert to Unitarianism. They DO take anybody (Sorry Mr Knight, this is too funny)
Thank you very much! The 6 p.m. hour has passed here in the Eastern time zone without any incident. And of course, nothing has happened in the Central time zone. The Mountain Time Zone is next up in 15 minutes, with the Pacific Time Zone an hour and 15 minutes away. Mr. Camping will be screaming his head off well into tomorrow morning!
Just got back from a bike ride with the children, did not see any clothing without owners lying in the streets, no cars in fire hydrants. Maybe we're all just too bigga sinners!! See ya at the General Judgment!!!
It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has sent by His own authority." Acts 1:7
I called some of my protestant friends, a Baptist, Methodist, evangelical, and I even checked with a Jew since they are technically God's chosen people. They are all still here. So maybe we Catholics that were left behind are in good company.
God Bless
Thanks for the post Sir Knight!
I hope these things will no longer occur in the future. It gives Christians in general a bad name and sows confusion.
Not all the faithful are knowledgeable in these things and as such, needs protection from those who spread error.
Nevertheless, the response of Catholics must be one of charity. These people may not be necessarily evil. It may be a case of misguided zeal and so need a lot of prayers and understanding.
Thanks and God Bless!
Well 6:00PM Central Time come and went. Big, hairy deal!
There is no Rapture! With what is approaching, every Christian will have to embrace the cross and if you are not prepared to die for your faith, you may lose it. These fundamentalists do a great deal of harm to their flock. Their rejection of the Catholic Church and their subsequent heresy is just another indication of God's punishment for their spiritual blindness and pride.
I was left behind and now I still have to pay amortization!
Siobhan, you've said it all and perfectly!
It frustrates me so much because the religious illiteracy rate in modern society is breath-taking. The Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Churches and the mainline Protestant ecclesial bodies DO NOT teach a pre-tribulation 'rapture'. You'd never know this though by listening to the various talking heads and radio talk show personalities. This heresy has Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Jews and the un-churched in general mistakenly believing this man-made doctrine is Christian theology! It is not and never has been! It is the invention of John Darby in the 1830s. The situation is made worse by the various inherently anti-Catholic contemporary authors like Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye, Jerry Jenkins, et al. The question shouldn’t be why was the prophesied date incorrect or why would so many people believe Mr. Camping’s timetable, but rather why would the majority of Christians know that Christianity doesn’t teach such a foolish and novel doctrine in the first place.
To make matters worse, the whole idea is an extreme case of wishful thinking. (as if we’re going to be treated better than the early Christians whose faith in Jesus Christ was even greater than ours.) Where was this ‘rapture’ for the early Christians who were covered in pitch, tied to stakes and lit on fire to decorate Roman streets? Where was this ‘rapture’ when the early Christians were thrown to hungry lions or beheaded or cut into pieces while alive because they wouldn’t deny their faith in Jesus Christ? ~ Jaymes
