Obama HHS Compromise is no Compromise At All !!!

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: In an attempt to save face with Catholic voters, President Barack Obama has put forward an alleged 'accommodation' for religious groups in his HHS mandate that has threatened to violate religious conscience. The alleged 'accommodation' is really no compromise at all, and is in fact an attempt to trick the bishops into dropping their holy crusade against this wicked HHS mandate....
(Hot Air) - The revised Obama mandate will make religious groups contract with insurers to offer birth control and the potentially abortion-causing drugs to women at no cost. The revised mandate will have religious employers refer women to their insurance company for coverage that still violates their moral and religious beliefs. Under this plan, every insurance company will be obligated to provide coverage at no cost.

Essentially, religious groups will still be mandated to offer plans that cover both birth control and the ella abortion drug

According to Obama administration officials on a conference call this morning, a woman’s insurance company “will be required to reach out directly and offer her contraceptive care free of charge. The religious institutions will not have to pay for it.”

The birth control and abortion-causing drugs will simply be “part of the bundle of services that all insurance companies are required to offer,” White House officials said....

Okay. So let's sort through this. Under the previous HHS mandate, religious organisations were required to pay for contraception and abortion inducing drugs in the health insurance plans they purchased for their employees. That caused an uproar of course, so now under this new HHS mandate (proposed by Barack Obama himself) religious organisations are again required to pay for contraception and abortion inducing drugs in the healthcare insurance plans they purchase for their employees. The only difference is under the old mandate the drugs were mandated to be purchased directly as an option in the plan, while under the new mandate, the drugs are purchased indirectly through the baseline cost premiums. That's it! That's the only change! This is a bait and switch. Obama is trying to tell the bishops that they won't have to pay for contraception and abortion inducing drugs when in fact they will and he knows it !!!

Obama has made no compromise at all, and the only thing this accommodates is his pro-death anti-religious agenda. Except now he has his face stamped all over it. Under the previous plan he could have punted blame to his HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Not so anymore. This latest mandate was put forward by him directly.

As I have mentioned in previous blog entries, Barack Obama is not the problem. He is the symptom. Oh sure, we can replace him in November, and hopefully all these problems will go away for a while, but mark my words, they will come back -- eventually. The reason why is because the United States federal government no longer embraces Subsidiarity as a governing principle. It hasn't for generations, but the sad thing is that most U.S. Catholics no longer embrace it either. This is what happens when you have a large intrusive federal government that can rule by simple fiat. What is particularly disturbing is the fact that there has never been a case in history when such a centralised and powerful government has reversed its course completely and turned back to a model based on Subsidiarity. The historical pattern is always greater centralisation, which creates more consolidation of power, followed by tyranny, followed by an implosion and crumbling of the government under the government's own weight.

Getting rid of Obama is just a short-term solution. The only long-term solution to this problem is to get rid of Washington DC. In accordance with the principle of Subsidiarity, the people of their respective states need to start thinking about independence and self-governance. After all is said and done, it's the only real long-term solution there is.

Even if an actual accommodation is reached wherein no religious institution, regardless of whom it serves or employs, is required to purchase insurance covering contraception, sterilisation or abortion or to direct employers where to obtain coverage for those services the law still requires civil disobedience. Private Christian employers, that's us, will still be required to purchase insurance for all three in violation of conscience.

This issue also shines the light on Obama's violation of the 'rules' by which regulations get implemented.

No required advance posting, No required comment period.

Just a simple decree by our Dictator-in-Chief.

This tyrant and his court must be impeached and removed.

Sir Knight,

They've been speculating about this very thing over at WDTPRS now for nearly a week; seems that the good Fr.s' and astute layety who have commented there on the varius articles that have expressed this concern have been correct. Don't be lulled into a false sense of complacency, USCCB or US Catholics; O thinks he's got you where he wants you...if he wins your federal election this year, the HHS or a variant thereof will simply re-imerge in the second term; it is only on hold now so as not to damage his perceived electability and to hoodwink the majority of US Catholic voters who, tragically ar utterly naiive as to their own faith, and gullible as they come when it comes to falling for this sort of thing. Be awake, friends, now is not the time for sleeping, the time for slumber is long past - we need constant vigilence!!

Blessings,

Sarah,
Australia.

Pete,

Dear brother in Christ, I believe this was uncalled for. it has been my observation all along that it is TCK's love for his nation that has driven him to such dispair at its foolishness and subsiquent speculation concerning the fact that said arrogance, Godlessness, disobedience and folly cannot continue forever without significant consiquences . Please remember that we are all citizens of the Kingdom of Christ first and foremost. Nationalism here in Australia ('patriotism') does not even begin to approach the fever pitch that it seems to reach in the US (many Australians see such as idolatry at best, dangerous at worst) , so this non American simply cannot equate anything that TCK has written with hatred of his nation. Additionally, i do not equate his numerous speculations as to how the future may unfold with any sense of ghoolish glee as to the future of your people...

Cont'd,

The president comes across as friendly, smiling, and reasonable. Therefore, naive individuals who judge by appearances, such as many of our religious leaders, may be fooled into accepting the agenda that the elite is pressuring the government to promote.

Since when is free contraception a right anyways? The real reason behind this is the global elite's desire to limit population growth but encouraging the poor to use contraception.

I'm personally not against the idea that the poor should be more responsible in procreation but no one should be forced by big government to go against their deeply held religious beliefs.

May our Bishops not be naive about this. BTW, if Pete Frey dislikes the CK blog, how about not reading it.

This "compromise" might actually make matters worse.

This is unadulterated evil - it forces people, anybody who pays for health insurance, to pay a tithe to hell

Pete. I have no problem taking criticism of myself, and you're free to post that criticism of me all you like. However, I think you ought to at least know what it is you are criticising. After all, if you're going to do something, you should do it right.

America is not Washington DC.

Washington DC is not America.

The two are not one in the same. They never have been and never will be. If I really did 'hate' America, I would be calling for the economic and cultural destruction of America. I would be calling upon all of the fifty state governments to fall, along with Washington DC. I would be cheering our enemies when they attack our troops overseas, and I would be pleased with the moral decay and national debt that is destroying our civilisation. The only problem is, I'm not doing these things Pete. I actually love my people, our culture and our civilisation. I fear for the safety of our troops. I don't want them deployed needlessly when they have wives and small children at home. I want our economy to flourish and small family-owned businesses to thrive. I want my nation preserved, but unfortunately right now I see the biggest obstacle to that as not only Barack Obama, but Washington DC itself. I see Obama as merely a symptom of a much bigger problem.

So now if you want to say I hate America you are wrong. I love the American people and the magnificent land we have settled. If you want to say I hate the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, you again are wrong. I just don't believe those documents have been followed in generations. The government the founding fathers created died in the Civil War and was burried by the 20th century. You know that is true Pete. You cannot deny it. If you want to say I hate Barack Obama, I will have to disagree with you. Obama is merely a stooge. I can't hate a stooge just for being a stooge. If you want to say that I hate the political system that created Obama, I'll give you that. If you want to say I hate the the political establishment in Washington DC, I cannot disagree. If you want to say I hate the tyranical empire that Washington DC has become, I would say you hit the nail on the head. So next time you would like to accuse me of hating something, please do get it straight on what it actually is.

I have set up a blog to begin a Novena for Mr Knight's father, who is very ill and suffering from financial difficulties. If you will participate in this Novena please add your name to the blog so we can pray together for this intention.

By all means, Luciana. It would be an honor to join you in this novena. Unfortunately I tried to get to your blog but was unable to access.
It could very well be on this end. If by chance I cannot get to your blog would you mind posting along the details.

Thank you!

Luciana,
I am joining you in the Novena and have attempted to post this twice now on the Novena blog but neither post has shown.

Ann,

Your original comment went to Spam folder for some reason (I am still getting the hang of the Wordpress admin page - I haven't had a blog for many years). I have approved it and removed the subsequent comment, and it now appears on the Novena blog.

Mr. Frey is extremely misguided in his assessment of you Sir Knight.

When you were saying, "If I really did 'hate' America, I would be calling for the economic and cultural destruction of America. I would be calling upon all of the fifty state governments to fall, along with Washington DC. I would be cheering our enemies when they attack our troops overseas, and I would be pleased with the moral decay and national debt that is destroying our civilisation" I was thinking, "yeah, this would be called the 'Democrat Knight' if that were true"...
