(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) - For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war...
We know from the teachings of our prophets that before the time of great martyrdom under Antichrist, there will first come a period when Christians will fight back (militarily) against the tyranny of relativism. We do not know when this day will come, but when the time is right, and the circumstances are appropriate, it will happen. This will be followed by an age of peace (unknown length) before the time of Antichrist (and great martyrdom) comes. It is this first period of Christian revolution that is of particular interest to us, because we know the time is near. This film, pointing back to the Cristiada, might help us understand the proper disposition an army for Christ ought to have in such a future conflict. Granted, this is hypothetical for the moment, as the full furry of God's chastisement on the modern world has yet to be released.

Mr. Catholic Knight:
I've been reading your blog for some time and this is the first time I've commented. :-)
Currently my mother and I are planning to go see this movie on Friday and I've been looking forward to it.
A few days ago I was watching a little half-hour documentary about the historical events surrounding those depicted in the movie, and a line the narrator said that got my attention was something like, "The government was trying to eliminate its rivals for providing education" and so on. It seems to me that our government here in the U.S. is in the beginning stages of something similar.
Since I've been taking a Spanish class in high school--currently I go to a public school, unfortunately--in a sense I consider Blessed Jose` Sanchez del Rio an amigo of mine.

I wonder if it will come out in my country. Probably not, which is a shame.
Antaine, where is your country? I would be curious to know if this film will be shown in Mexico.
I suppose at some point, the oppression in the US could take a violent turn, but I have a strong suspicion it will not. It will just continue through subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) economic and cultural pressures, much like the push for gay marriage, widespread acceptance of divorce and contraception. The long breakdown of morality through the media, entertainment and education will eventually erode the Church's influence much more than a violent frontal assault would.
C Matt,
I live in Ireland.
Mr Knight, you do realize of course that it was masonic influence behind the Mexican "revolution" Mexico is a most unfortunate country, if it can really be called such. It has devolved into an anarchic-narco regime which has always been anti catholic, right from the time Mexico got her independence from Spain. The masons in the US were largely behind the revolution and its anti-catholic elements. Dwight Morrow (father in law of mason Charles Lindbergh) looked the other way during his time as US ambassador. @The Catholic Knight: Yes, ABC, NBC, et al. probably realize that if they discuss it now, it could bias the outcome in their disfavor because it would possibly rally more support for the SSPX.
Last year I took a class on the History of Mexico as part of my history degree - and we covered this part in depth. We read a book on Plutarco Elias Calles, the "President" who on and behind the scenes implemented this bloodbath. The book was very good, but obviously left leaning. It mentioned (briefly) the persecution of the Church, but made no mention of the numbers of Priests and Nuns executed. They did mention Fr. Miguel Pro in one sentence. However, the average college student has no background on this - and no interest in looking up further information. They assume "that's all there is!"
